Tennis, pickleball, padel and all the racquet sports were all fragmented, with no room to share. So we built one, put courts on the show floor, and let people play their way into the conversation. What we saw was an opportunity: rising tides lift all ships.
Zero brands to 176 in three years. Nobody had to give up ground to get there. The category just got bigger, and everyone standing in it got easier to find.
Still the loudest exhibit hall I have ever stood in.
The work
I built the room, then everything that happens in it.
Programming, floor plan, sponsorship architecture, revenue model, and the part at the end where a club owner tells you it was the first time the industry actually saw him. Co-founding means you own the P&L and the emotional architecture, and you find out fast which one decides whether people come back.
The bet was that a category grows faster when the people in it can see each other. Three years in, the floor plan keeps outgrowing the building.
Everyone always wants to know the attendance number. The number I care about is how many people were still in the hall an hour after the last session ended.
The invitation
I can build one for your category.
RacquetX is the proof. Email me if you want to talk about yours. If you’re here for the event itself, it’s at racquetx.com.
